Before you begin to put your thoughts on paper, come up with a name for your nonprofit organization (or NPO). This may seem like a simple process but it’s not quite that easy. You must think long and hard in order to serve you, the community, and those you’re trying to help. Are you seeking local, national, or global presence? Is it a unique and catchy name or is this a name that’s more than likely being used by someone else in the world. Star Bright Donations, Inc. is one of those unique names, not being used by anyone else in the world…legally. There’s a legal process that’s associated with this and I’ll write about that in a future segment.
Once you’ve nailed down your nonprofit organization’s official name, check online to see if a website (that reflects the name of your NPO) is available for purchase. I went to GoDaddy.com to secure my website domain.
